I thought this store was going out of business?
Wasn't this Connolly's?
We get asked these questions a lot. Here's the story:
- Bill Jeffers opened Valley Furniture at this same location back in 1981. For over 30 years, Valley Furniture provided the area with quality furnishings for all types of styles and budgets.
- When Bill retired a number of years ago, the Connolly family took over the location and it became one of their three stores, along with Fremont and Castro Valley. The store was now called "Connolly's Furniture and Mattress."
- The Connolly family decided to the exit the furniture business in 2020, closing all three stores.
- Bill decided that he was going to come out of retirement, and re-open the store as "Valley Furniture" back where it all began in 1981.
- We opened April 1, 2021.
